The NORRA 1000 off-road race

The NORRA 1000 off-road race

If you ever have reason to go to Baja, it's well worth the trip. I got to enjoy some sun, some sand, and some water, plus a little cactus.

Tacos are always a must-have when on the road.

In case you missed the newsletter I sent in April, the NORRA 1000 off-road race is what took me to Baja. Let's just say the reward was well worth the wait it took for me to finally take this expedition.

📷  As promised, here are some photos, so you can see for yourself what it would be like to do a race like this...

The Vintage Racing Truck

My buddy Colin invited me to be part of the support crew for his truck, so I didn't do any racing myself. But he, like many other wise adventurers, knows a Red Oxx bag is handy to have on-deck.

High Visibility

Few things are more helpful in a pinch than unrolling a bag of tools and emergency supplies for a quick visual scan to find what you need, fast.

Tools Are Ready Just below the dash, a Big Bull Rollup is strapped in for easy access.

Off Road Off Course

Every now and then you find yourself out in the middle of nowhere, not entirely sure how you got there.

Then there are the times you purposely avoid the roads, and seek out a path well-traveled by those who know where to go. It's that sense of adventure that keeps me coming back to the various overlanding and off-road adventures I love to go on.

Up here in Montana, most of the time you see snow when you're looking at the mountains. I like the contrast of desert mountains with cactus...

My #1 Duffle

When I'm on the road, the duffle I always reach for first is the trusty Tres Hombres. It's convertible, so I can carry it as a backpack when my hands need a break.

The 3 long compartments and compression straps make it easy to organize my stuff and keep it secure. Get yours if you don't already have one.

Have you been on any interesting adventures lately? I'd love to hear about it. Send your own adventure journal to info@redoxx.com, or just reply to this email.

Cheers,
Jim

P.S. On our way south from San Felipe, the Chenowth Legacy Lodge provided a nice spot to sleep on the coast. They have their own off-road racing museum on-site too!
