The Small Business Administration announced its annual SBA awards for 2016 for each of the 50 states. Red Oxx Manufacturing is proud to be named as Veteran-owned Business of the Year representing the state of Montana.
Red Oxx Manufacturing was nominated by Sara Hudson of the Veterans Business Outreach Center and Kent Wood of First Interstate Bank. CEO Jim Markel Jr. is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and company President Perry Jones served duty in the U.S. Navy. The winners of each state will go as finalists in the National SBA Awards later this year.
Said Markel, "We were stoked to be nominated for the Montana branch of the SBA awards but the fact that we actually won this award during our 30th Anniversary makes it even more special."
Each year since 1963, the president of the SBA has issued a proclamation calling for the celebration of National Small Business Week. National Small Business Week is set as the first week in May, and this year the dates are May 1-7 with national events planned in Washington, D.C., New York City, Atlanta, Denver, Phoenix and San Jose and Oakland, California.
